Since I can’t really remember what I last wrote about, I hope I don’t repeat myself. If I do please forgive me.
Last week was a crazy week for me. There was the holiday on Monday. Brad had off Sunday night and took a vacation day on Monday night so we got to spend most of the weekend together. We had our steak dinner one night, I can’t remember the day though. It was nice, Lexi wasn’t up from her nap yet and Gabe was watching a movie so it ws just the two of us. Lexi can sleep for 4 hours if she wants and most days she wants to sleep close to 3 hours. Now that she is in daycare she only gets to sleep for 2 hours.
Lexi started daycare on Tuesday (after Labor Day). I cried more that day than she did. She is getting so big and I’m not ready for her to be gone all day. When she is home all day she plays and does her thing by herself but she still needs me to get her a cup or feed her. Now that she is gone all day it is quiet and boring most of the day. I miss my baby girl. I think she had a rough first week that has not gotten much better this week.
Wednesday I had to pick her up early to go to the surgery clinic. Lexi has a herniated belly button that we got checked. It seems to be healing but if it is not gone by age 5 she will need surgery. Her appointment was at 1:20pm which ment no nap for her. I have to say she is a pretty good kid even with no nap or a 30 minute catnap in the car.
Thursday was even worse. Lexi has had a rash of some sort since ?????. I fist noticed it about 3 weeks ago. The liquid medicine she takes in her juice only lasts about 5-6 hours so by 2pm she starts to get itchy again. I guess she was scratching bad and the daycare called for me to come get her. I was required to take her to her doctor and get a note for her to return to school. I got her an appointment for Friday morning. I paid a full week of daycare ($120.00) for her to go a full day Tuesday, half day Wednesday, half day Thursday, and half day Friday. They made out good last week. On Thursday when I went to get her she got jumped on by another child. They have a heavy duty catipillar made of plastic that the kids crawl through. Three or four boys were on top of it. One of the boys jumped off and landed on Lexi causing her to fall over and cry. I told one of the three teachers in the room what just happened. They did nothing. I know that kids will climb and jump but if you see something like this happen or know what is about to happen you should remove the children from harm ways and let them know it is wrong. She was ultimately fine so I’m not to worried about the whole situtaion.
I forgot to mention that on her first day the afternoon teachers decided to let the kids paint. That is great that my child gets to do fun things that I would not do with her at home. I don’t the mess here. The problem was that it was fabric paint and her very nice halter top was covered in red and blue paint. This was not kids paint that just comes right out of clothing. OH NO!!!! they used fabric paint that won’t come out. I tried soaking it over night, washing it, using Goo Gone, soaked it in rubbing alcohol, and hand scrubbing it with a tooth brush. It is not coming out. No one at the center knows what kind of paint it is or who brought it there for the kids to use.
Friday morning Lexi had her doctor appointment (her third in a week) for her itchiness. The doctors best bet is that is was scabbies. This is the third time someone in this house had it in a year. I don’t know where it came from but I hope it is gone for good this time. She had 2 treatments of the lotion. It hurts, almost burns, when you put it on scratches on the skin. This lotion has to be left on for 12-14 hours and then washed off. I think it burns when you rinse it off too. Her doctor said her skin is showing signs of healing, she is not contagious, and hopefully soon she will stop itching.
We had an uneventful weekend. Lexi got new shoes. A really cute pair of Adidas tennis shoes. They are pick, silver, and white. She wants to wear them all the time. Sunday evening, after her bath, she brought them to Daddy and said,”Choose on Daddy. Choose, choose, choose.” That is the way she says shoes. We put them on her for the reamining hour she was awake. She was not happy when I took them off at bedtime. Gabe and Lexi are both like their Daddy in that sense. Brad loves getting new shoes. He couldn’t find a pair he liked this weekend so he did not get any.
Monday started a new week of chaos. Gabe refuses to take a nap at school. We got him some activity books, pencils and we let him take reading books for nap time. He thinks it is fun time and wants to share with his friends or keep them awake during nap time. He got written up on Tuesday and one more chance to prove himself. I hope he does good today. I know Gabe is a good boy but he is alot like his Daddy. He needs to busy to keep himself out of trouble. All boys have that problem. Monday was also a bad day for Lexi. She got bit by someone in her class. No one knows when it happened but I have pictures of the bite. I didn’t notice it till 6:30 when I was washing her hands after dinner.

The bite mark.
I took pictures of it at 7pm after I got her ready for bed. I showed it to the teachers in her class and the director of the center. Given the fact of how red it was in the evening leads me to believe it happened in the afternoon. It looks much better today but you can still see the faint outline of the mark. My little girl is not having much luck at her new school. I think I may just have to pay the $15.00 a month to view the camera in her room. If anyone wants to contribute $$ each month I will sign up and give you the code to see both the kids in class anyday at anytime.

I smile really pretty.

I laugh even bigger.

Daddy is blowing my hair out of my eyes.

Gabe is such a big boy now!!
Lets hope next week is better than this week. Everyone have a great week!
